Battle report on it's way : Nauticans vs The Empire

I fielded a 2250pts Empire army to take the fight to the Nauticans on Saturday.

I'll be writing up a battle summary of the encounter soon. For the meantime, here are some of the findings :-

The Nauticans were beaten again but it was a marginal victory, not the crushing defeats that they are usually subjected to.

The Sea Creature Origin rules make a significant difference and the Nauticans feel more balanced and more competitive as a result.

The Nautican army may not be to everyone's liking. Nautican commanders will need to be prepared to take more missile casualties than other armies as they march across the battlefield before they have the opportunity to inflict wounds on the enemy.

The Nautican army probably needs to take magic users. One of the reasons that the Empire won was due to domination of the magic phase against a Nautican army with no spellcasters.

Army list tweak required to Lobstrosity parry rule. Needs be be clarified and made simpler.

That's it for now, I'll start work on the battle report soon. It will be a summarised version because I don't have detailed notes past turn 3.

Thanks for reading,
Sigmar
